Google has also just offered a preview of the news that will arrive throughout the current year 2021 to Google Classroom, its online learning tool, both for teachers, administrators and students, with which it will try to continue adapting to the needs of the educational community, having served as a lifeline for educational institutions with the arrival of the pandemic and the closure of schools.
There are many new features listed, where it is worth highlighting the possibility that teachers can soon integrate EdTech tools and content within Classroom as complements, being able to select them through a marketplace specific, and that will be in the hands of those who are only part of Google Workspace for Education Plus or Teaching and Learning Upgrade.
Administrators will also be able to install plugins within teachers’ domains. And speaking of administrators, soon they will be able to have audit records of Classroom more detailed.
With audit logs, administrators can get to the root of Classroom-related issues and identify triggering events, such as who removed a student from a class or archived a class on a specific date
New controls and other possibilities also arrive
By the end of this year, teachers will also obtain the ability to monitor student participation, where they will obtain a series of statistics in which they can observe the level of involvement of each student within the platform, and see who may be more advanced and lag behind the average level.
Later this year, the Classroom application for Android will receive an update that will allow students to use it even without the need for a connection, ideal for those who cannot have a connection or have intermittent connections, as appropriate.
In this regard, they advance that:
Students will be able to start their work offline, review assignments, open Drive attachments, and write assignments in Google Docs, all without an Internet connection.
And by the end of the year, Classroom for Android will also offer a series of capabilities to students when it comes to attaching the work they have photographed with their mobile devices.
The improvement of the workflow for teachers, the possibility of using rich text in publications or assignments, or even the arrival of originality reports in other languages, Spanish among them, are other of the many new features that will arrive throughout this year to the platform.
